The elephant dung covers are made from 75% elephant dung and 25% recycled paper – yes really! The notebooks are filled with approximately 50 pages of paddy husk paper, a beautiful handmade paper that is very smooth and easy to write on with any pen of your choice. All the paper is acid-free.

The notebooks are handmade by skilled local artisans who complete the designs with a brass elephant motif. Only natural dyes are used.

Each piece is uniqueas everything is handmade and the shade and smuttiness of the paper depends on the elephant diet!

Your impact

Give waste a new life and Be fair to peopleAll the elephant dung paper used in our products is acid-free and handmade at the Maximus Elephant Conservation Trust in Sri Lanka. Zero waste and fair to artisans in the rural communities who are paid fair wages for manufacturing and also to local villages working at collecting the elephant dung that is used to make the paper.

With your purchase you are also supporting Millennium Elephant Foundation (MEF), a small charity that cares for sick, old and disabled elephants. The foundation is also working to resolve the conflict between elephants and local communities, a critical concern as the elephants' natural habitat decreases and they turn to eating farmers' crops.

These woollen socks are handmade in Nepal by carefully selected ethical organisations that work with local families.

Made using 100% wool, they are super comfortable and ideal for the cold winter nights, chilly days and for lounging around the house!

SizingThe socks are designed to come up slightly larger than normal for added comfort, that is why the size range is wide.

Small size fits EU 36-42, Large fits EU 43-47.

      Your impact

      Be fair to people:

All the woollen socks are hand crocheted by a Fair Trade organisation in Nepal.

Actively promoting the training and employment of stigmatised and marginalised members of their society, they pay a fair wage and offer opportunities for them to live a stable and happier life.

By making a purchase, you are helping to continue the fantastic work of those producers.

Care Instructions:  As these socks are made from wool, we’d advise treating them like your favourite woolly jumper – wash in a cold woollen wash or better still, hand wash in cool water. As they are completely hand knitted, there may be some variation in the sizes. The socks may not be exactly the same size as you would expect from factory/machine produced socks. Due to their hand knitted nature, the exact design and colours may vary a little from the socks shown in the image. We think this makes them all wonderfully unique.

Give waste a new life and Be fair to people: All the elephant dung paper used in our products is acid-free and handmade at the Maximus Elephant Conservation Trust in Sri Lanka.
